Is iPhone 3GS all that?
So who waited in line for the all new iPhone 3GS?
According to all the reports I read, not nearly as many of you did this time around as when the 3G was released, and clearly not as many were camped out as when the original iphone was released. I think a few children were conceived when the first iPhone debuted. Can you say iChild?
The question of today is.. Is the 3GS all that? Meaning, for those early adopters, are you as happy as you should be, or are you just as happy to be the first to have something that smells like new electronics in your pocket?
Personally, I still like the looks and feel of the first gen iPhone. The aluminum case is not as slippery as the plastic big brothers/sisters. And I'm not even going to mention fingerprintability and scratchability! But bottom line, are we being tempted by the forbidden fruit here? Come on Apple... it's MMS capable, but ATT has yet to figure it out? Sounds like a rush job to me. My first Treo 600 sent MMS messages, and that was generations ago.
I wonder how many with iPhone 3Gs with the free 3.0 software upgrade are just as happy. I also wonder how many are waiting for a different carrier to provide service to the world's most popular phone. I wonder how many people are still waiting for MMS to be introduced to the almighty iphone. Will the Palm Pre beat it to the punch? It already did. UPDATE: The Palm Pre already has MMS, but as of 9/25/09 AT&T is FINALLY rolling out MMS. Note... In order to activate it, you must update your iphone's software via iTunes and restart your iphone. Don't forget to ALWAYS back up your phone before doing any updates!!!
That's all for now folks!
